Enhance awareness of inclusivity in artistic spaces in local, home-grown settings. Support businesses and non-profit organizations that are radically inclusive in their physical design, communication, services, opportunities, client support, and company culture. It can be a local coffeeshop that hosts music on the weekend. It can be a larger organization that has a history of making services accessible.

Work to articulate the values that create the most opportunities for businesses and their patrons to grow. Most business owners cannot justify a budget for accessibility changes, either because they don’t see them as opportunities for increased revenue, or because they don’t see an issue at all. Focus on promoting better practices to organizations that have a history of being responsive to change.

Identify barriers on the web and in-person that may impose limitations and impede participation for yourself and others. How can things be better? Does an app that everyone else is using seem difficult to use? Are shows your friends are attending hard to access? Take the time to deeply reflect on your daily experiences, past situations, and those around you.

Sometimes, there are simple fixes with simple solutions. But most times, making our community more accessible takes the hands of many people with different talents coordinating themselves toward specific goals. We aim to develop connections through not only shared artistic projects, but everyday commerce and creative business endeavors.
